UPDATES
May 2026
Dear Platt Middle School Parents and Staff,
We hope this has been a successful school year for you and your student(s)! The BVSD Bond team is excited to let you know construction will be starting soon for renovations provided by the Building for Student Success program. These improvements are coming to Platt Middle School thanks to support from the entire BVSD community through passage of the 2022 Bond measure.
In addition to much-needed repair and upgrades to building systems and finishes, highlights of the improvements coming to Platt Middle include:
- Concrete and paving repair and replacement
- Safety & ADA improvements in both parking lots
- Repair/replace grass at baseball and soccer fields
- Renovation of restroom groups
- Adding air conditioning to the auditorium
- Renovations to expand opportunities for career and technical education
The full scope of work can be found on the BVSD Building for Student Success website on the Platt Middle School Bond project page.
Our $4.6 million project will begin after the students leave in May and will be complete when school resumes in August.
Student and staff safety is our top priority at Platt Middle School and in the Boulder Valley School District. During the summer months, there will be no access to the building and school grounds. For everyone’s safety, please comply with all posted signage and temporary barriers.
All workers who are authorized to be on-site will have numbered project stickers on their hard hats and will have background checks. Generally, there should be no reason for workers to interact with school staff or community members during this project.
We want to keep you informed as the project progresses. We will meet weekly with the architect(s) and construction company and will update you regularly about construction progress during the summer months. Project information, including monthly construction updates can be found on the Platt Middle School project website. Specific questions should be directed to me, Charles Zachemsky at 720-561-5954 or charles.zachemsky@bvsd.org.
As always, we are extremely grateful to BVSD taxpayers for this project and to you for your continued support of Platt Middle School. We hope you share our excitement for the great changes happening here.
Sincerely,
Charles Zachemsky
BVSD Project Manager
