UPDATES
June 2025
Welcome to the June Construction Update for Louisville Elementary School! With school officially over for the year and the students and staff off for a well-earned summer break, construction activity at the school is underway. There is a significant impact throughout the school, and around the campus, as such, the school building, along with select spots around the campus, are currently off limits to anyone besides construction personnel. This will be the case for the duration of the summer. Below is an overview of the construction activities planned throughout the LES campus during the month of June:
- Complete demo of existing flooring in select areas throughout the school
- Ongoing lighting replacement throughout the school
- Mechanical, electrical and plumbing adjustments throughout the school (specifically in the ceilings)
- Installation of wood panel ceilings in select areas throughout the school
- Moving of cubbies in the kindergarten hallway into the classrooms
- Patch and replace of existing conduits in selected classrooms
- Prime and first coat of paint in select areas
- Begin intercom and fire alarm replacement throughout the school
- Begin renovation of staff restrooms and new flooring in student restrooms
- Install new destratification fan in gymnasium
- Begin and complete replacement of grease interceptor on exterior of the school

We hope this message finds you and your student(s) well as you begin the Summer Break! The BVSD Bond Department is excited for the upcoming kick-off of construction for renovations coming to Louisville Elementary School this summer. These improvements are the result of support from the entire BVSD community through passage of the 2022 BVSD Bond measure.
Our $2.1M project will begin immediately after Memorial Day weekend (with some site mobilization taking place in the days leading up to the end of school) and will be substantially complete by early August. Highlights of the project include:
- Repairs to areas of roof and roof components
- Electrical and plumbing system upgrades
- Update HVAC controls
- Replace restroom accessories
- Renovate staff restrooms
Student and staff safety is our top priority at Louisville Elementary School and in the Boulder Valley School District. While work on our project is slated for the summer months only when school is not in session, we realize that the grounds are frequented by the community during this time. PLEASE NOTE: There will be very limited access to both the building and school grounds during the summer. For your safety, and the safety of the construction crew, we ask that you comply with all posted signage and temporary barriers.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PROCESS
Community Engagement
To ensure the school community is engaged in the project, the project manager (PM) will work directly with the school principal to discuss the identified renovations, meet with the architect, and coordinate the construction schedule. The principal will decide which school staff or parents might need to be involved with the design process depending on the scope of work. The project manager will share information with the entire school staff at key milestones through the design process.
