June 2024

This project is substantially complete.  The project team is working with the contractor to finalize punch list items and closeout the project.

May 2024

Students and staff are enjoying the building improvements and renovated athletic field!  The field will be closed until the end of the month to allow the new sod to take root. A roofing contractor will be on-site this month to replace the shingle rooftop.  All work is anticipated to be completed by the first week of June.

March 2024

Welcome the first of several communications regarding the upcoming construction project at Justice High School! Thanks to the generous support of community members like yourself via the 2022 Bond, BVSD is able to bring improvements to select areas of the school site that will improve access for activities as well as improving the overall quality of the learning environment. Mobilization for this work begins Monday, Mar. 25 during Spring Break with substantial completion slated for late April. Here are some of the highlights of this exciting 2-month project:

• Removal of far east parking lot and vehicles currently stored there
• Installation of new grass field on the east side of the Justice HS property
• Removal of the chimney in front of the school and replacing with an improved facade
• Improvements to ADA access at select areas around the school
• Site improvements such as sidewalk improvements and other landscaping

February 2024

The Board approved the GMP Contract in January. Construction is scheduled to commence on June 3, 2024 with a substantial completion date of August 2, 2024.

December 2023

Construction documents were issued in November and the contractor's guaranteed maximum price (GMP) will be reviewed in mid-December with a contract anticipated to go to the Board in January. Construction is planned for summer 2024.

September 2023

• The project team has been meeting with school staff since last spring to understand the school's needs and develop the design.

• The design is proceeding on schedule and bidding will occur in November/December. 

• Construction for Phase 1 projects will begin in the spring/summer of 2024.  

July 2023

• Schematic Design (SD) documents are anticipated on Jul. 28.

• Meetings with staff to review design will be scheduled upon staff’s return. 

• Design Documents (DD) are scheduled to be issued mid-September with final Construction Documents (CD) scheduled to deliver to BVSD at the end of October.

May 2023

Design for this project will begin this month with a meeting between the architect, project manager and school principal. Design will continue through the summer. Construction documents will be completed this fall with bidding to follow. Construction is anticipated for next spring/summer.
