Welcome to the July Construction Update for Horizons K-8 School! We have passed the halfway point for the construction project here at Horizons--plenty of work has been completed with more to come. Construction crews are well on their way to being ready for students to return in August. Work to be completed this month is outlined below:
- Complete asphalt overlay, crack seal, and striping of parking lot
- Complete installation of new fire alarm system
- Complete installation of new lights in select areas of the school
- Complete installation and testing of new hydronic heating and cooling system
- Complete installation of new bathroom accessories in main corridor
- Complete remodel of new Learning Lab space
- Begin addressing final task list items throughout the month when possible
- Begin prep for new roof top HVAC unit for Special Education space. Delivery of the roof top HVAC unit has been delayed. However, students and staff will still be able to use the renovated space when they return in August. Installation of the unit once delivered will happen outside of regular school hours.

June 2025
June 2025
Welcome to the June Construction Update for Horizons K-8 School! With school officially over for the year and the students and staff off for a well-earned summer break, construction at Horizons is well underway. As such, the school building, along with select spots around the campus, are currently off limits to anyone besides construction related personnel. However, most of the surrounding grounds and playgrounds are all accessible to the public. For the safety of everyone, we do ask that you adhere to all fencing and signage instructions as work continues over the duration of the summer. Below is an overview of the construction activities that will be taking place throughout the Horizons campus during the month of June:
- Playing field turf maintenance, including top dressing, aeration and seeding
- Demolition of the existing fire alarm system to begin replacement by the end of June
- Begin replacement of lighting upgrades in select areas of the school - ongoing all summer
- Replacement of hydronic to better serve the existing boilers
- Remodel new bathroom at main corridor
- Begin demo and build out of new Special Education space, including office and learning spaces
