Welcome to the July Construction Update for Fairview High School! We hope summer is in full swing for you and your family, as it certainly is from our side of the fence, with plenty of work ahead from now to August when we welcome back staff and students. With a full five weeks behind us we are pleased to report that the Fairview HS project is rolling along smoothly, as we work toward a projected completion date of approximately Aug. 3. Thus, for the safety of everyone, we ask that you avoid coming to the campus unless absolutely necessary. Please see below for the construction activity taking place during the month of July:
- Complete final items at new turf field (early July)
- Complete site work by main entrance, including irrigation work
- Complete mechanical systems upgrade in the gym
- Complete work in select science classrooms and begin moving furniture back into these spaces
- Complete fire alarm and intercom upgrade
- Window replacement in the counseling area completed
- North parking lot and new lights completed
- Complete renovation of the CTE classrooms (computer lab and business area)
- Complete tennis court drainage improvement and softball field fence extension
- Begin addressing final To Do items
There are exciting changes coming to Fairview, and we sincerely appreciate your patience as we work through the end of this summer project. Note that the school, and parts of the grounds, are still an active construction site. The Boulder Valley School District is extremely grateful for the support given to us by the voters and we strive to be good stewards in providing the best academic environments possible to support our students.

Welcome to the June Construction Update for Fairview High School! As you have seen, construction activity has been underway in select areas around the campus, and inside the school (evenings) for a couple months now. With school officially over for the year, and students and staff off for a well-earned summer break, campus-wide construction at Fairview HS is fully underway. To allow the contractor to make the most of the summer “down time” the school building, along with select spots around the campus, are off limits to anyone besides construction personnel. This will be the case for the duration of the summer besides a few areas, such as the turf field, which may become accessible sometime in July. Below is an overview of the construction activities that will be taking place throughout the FHS campus during the month of June:
- Begin/complete demo of turf field and begin replacement process
- Start resurfacing of the north parking lot, including parking lights (which comply with City of Boulder dark sky requirements)
- Irrigation improvements continue throughout the site
- Continue work on roof top unit installation for the main gym
- Select asbestos abatement activity (completed mid-June)
- Continue demo in CTE and select science rooms
- Continue replacement of sprinkler and fire alarm systems
- Begin PA system replacement
While the certain areas of the surrounding campus are accessible to the public, we ask that you and your students avoid coming to the school site unless specifically authorized to do so. We are very excited about the changes in store for Fairview HS and sincerely appreciate your patience and support as we work our way through this busy summer of construction. We hope you are having a wonderful and relaxing start to your summer break….Go Knights!

February 2026
We hope this message finds the second semester moving along smoothly for you and your student(s)! The BVSD Bond team is excited to let you know construction will be starting soon for renovations provided by the Building for Student Success program. These improvements are coming to Fairview High School thanks to support from the entire BVSD community through passage of the 2022 Bond measure.
In addition to much-needed repair and upgrades to building systems and finishes, highlights of the improvements coming to Fairview include:
- Renovations to support the expansion of Career and Technical Education opportunities
- Renovations to Science classrooms
- Repairing and replacing casework
- Replacement of synthetic turf (2026) and resurfacing of the track (2027)
- Replace auxiliary gym sound system and scoreboard
- Roof repair
- Replacement of select exterior windows
The full scope of work can be found on the BVSD Building for Student Success website at bond.bvsd.org/school-projects/fairview-high-school.
The $21.3 million project, which will be completed in two phases, will begin next month in limited areas and will be completed by August 2027. The contractor will mobilize to the school site during spring break and will set up two fenced construction areas on the northeast side of the school near the terminus of Knox Dr. Another will be created on the north side of the baseball field. Following spring break, work will primarily occur above the ceilings outside of school hours and will not interfere with the school day. Between Mar. 30 and Apr. 17, there will be additional construction traffic and activity to pour a concrete pad on the northeast side of the school. Once school is out the fourth week of May, construction will expand to the entire school site and there will be no public access to the school or grounds over the summer.
Student and staff safety is our top priority at Fairview High School and in the Boulder Valley School District. During the school year, the construction areas will be isolated from the rest of the site by fences and/or construction walls that are clearly marked with warning signs. All workers who are authorized to be on-site will have numbered project stickers on their hard hats and will have background checks. Generally, there should be no workers in the school during the school day. After hours, there should be no reason for workers to interact with students or staff while they are in the school. For the summer of 2026, Fairview High School programs will be relocated to other BVSD locations. Please check with your student(s)’ coaches and/or sponsors for the times and locations of these summer programs. You may also contact the Fairview HS Athletics and Activities office at 720-561-3100.
We want to keep you informed as the project progresses. We will meet weekly with the architect(s) and construction company and will update you regularly about construction progress. Project information, including monthly construction updates can be found on the Fairview High School project website. Specific questions should be directed to me, Christoph Konradi, at 720-561-5233 or christoph.konradi@bvsd.org.
As always, we are extremely grateful to BVSD taxpayers for this project and to you for your continued support of Fairview High School. We hope you share our excitement for the great changes happening here.
Sincerely,
Christoph Konradi
