Construction work happening at the school in 2024 is part of the Universal Access Playground Project. Read more about the project here. 

The Critical Needs work will be completed in Phase 4, which is scheduled for 2027.  

 

Community Engagement 

To ensure the school community is engaged in the project, the project manager (PM) will work directly with the school principal to discuss the identified renovations, meet with the architect, and coordinate the construction schedule. The principal will decide which school staff or parents might need to be  involved with the design process depending on the scope of work. The project manager will share information with the entire school staff at key milestones through the design process.

BUILDING ENVELOPE

• Replace select exterior doors

BUILDING SYSTEMS

• Upgrade deteriorated fluorescent lighting to LED

• Replace deteriorated HVAC and plumbing systems components to avoid potential systems failures

INFRASTRUCTURE/SITE

• Repair/replace concrete and pavement

• Replace select playground equipment

SAFETY/CODE

• Upgrade intercom/public address system

• Update fire protection system

INTERIOR SPACE IMPROVEMENT

• Interior finish improvements such as flooring and paint 

• Kindergarten classroom renovation
