UPDATES
May 2026
Dear Crest View Elementary School Parents and Staff,
We hope this has been a successful school year for you and your student(s)! The BVSD Bond team is excited to let you know construction will be starting soon for renovations provided by the Building for Student Success program. These improvements are coming to Crest View Elementary School thanks to support from the entire BVSD community through passage of the 2022 Bond measure.
In addition to much-needed repair and upgrades to building systems and finishes, highlights of the improvements coming to Crest View Elementary include:
- Repairing/replacing areas of the roof and roof components
- Concrete and paving repair and replacement
- Replacing basketball backboards
- Replacing select kitchen equipment
The full scope of work can be found on the BVSD Building for Student Success website on the Crest View Elementary School project page.
Our $2 million project will begin after the students leave in May and will be complete when school resumes in August.
Student and staff safety is our top priority at Crest View Elementary School and in the Boulder Valley School District. During the summer months, there will be no access to the building and school grounds. For everyone’s safety, please comply with all posted signage and temporary barriers.
All workers who are authorized to be on-site will have numbered project stickers on their hard hats and will have background checks. Generally, there should be no reason for workers to interact with school staff or community members during this project.
We want to keep you informed as the project progresses. We will meet weekly with the architect(s) and construction company and will update you regularly about construction progress during the summer months. Project information, including monthly construction updates can be found on the Crest View Elementary School project website. Specific questions should be directed to me, Gene Temanson at 720-561-5951 or gene.temanson@bvsd.org.
As always, we are extremely grateful to BVSD taxpayers for this project and to you for your continued support of Crest View Elementary School. We hope you share our excitement for the great changes happening here.
Sincerely,
Gene Temanson
BVSD Project Manager

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PROCESS
Community Engagement
To ensure the school community is engaged in the project, the project manager (PM) will work directly with the school principal to discuss the identified renovations, meet with the architect, and coordinate the construction schedule. The principal will decide which school staff or parents might need to be involved with the design process depending on the scope of work. The project manager will share information with the entire school staff at key milestones through the design process.
