UPDATES
September 2025
Construction is substantially complete and the project team is working with the contractor to finish final task list items and close out the project. Students and staff are enjoying the updated spaces and improvements! This and other construction work around BVSD could not be possible without the generous support from our voters and the entire BVSD community. We are extremely grateful for this support and are thrilled for the Casey Middle School community and its students!

Welcome to the August Construction Update for Casey Middle School! We are extremely excited to report that the summer 2025 Bond construction project is now substantially complete. While there are a few final items being addressed during the month of August, the bulk of the work is now completed and the school is up and running as usual. As a reminder, here are some of the major items that were completed over the summer here at Casey MS:
- HVAC components and controls upgrades in the auditorium
- Replaced the synthetic turf field
- Replaced pavement and concrete in the circle drive by the underground parking
- Installed safety railings
- Updated kitchen ovens and dishwasher
- Renovations to expand and provide new furniture for career & technical education learning spaces
Overall, the entire school site looks amazing, and we are thrilled about the work that has been completed. This and other facility improvements around BVSD could not be possible without the support and generosity of the entire BVSD community and we sincerely thank you for your support.

Welcome to the July Construction Update for Casey Middle School! We have passed the halfway point for the summer construction project, and crews are well on their way to being ready for students in August. Work to be completed this month is outlined below:
- Complete installation of new field turf on the north side of the school
- Complete all concrete replacement work by underground parking lot
- Ongoing work in the auditorium in preparation for eventual installation of new roof top HVAC unit. Note: this may take place in August/early September
- Complete CTE space including identifying final tasks within the space
- Complete all exterior painting and masonry repairs

Welcome to the June Construction Update for Casey Middle School! With school officially over for the year and students and staff off for a well-earned summer break, construction at Casey is well underway. While only select areas will be impacted by construction work inside the school, there is a lot of activity taking place on the exterior of the school. As such, the school building, along with the vast majority of the surrounding campus, are currently off limits to anyone besides construction related personnel. This will be the case for the duration of the summer. Below is an overview of the construction activities that will be taking place throughout the Casey campus during the month of June:
- Begin replacement of the synthetic turf on the north side of the school. Existing infill has been removed and demo of the existing turf will be completed this month
- Demo, removal, and replacement of concrete walkway by the underground parking area
- Ongoing replacement of major appliances and equipment in the kitchen
- Begin electrical rough-in at the current CTE classroom (2nd floor)

- SD documents were issued on July 3rd and pricing for these is expected July 24th.
- Meetings with staff to review design will be scheduled upon staff’s return.
- Design Documents (DD) are scheduled to be issued mid-August with final Construction Documents (CD) scheduled to deliver to BVSD at the beginning of September.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PROCESS
Community Engagement
To ensure the school community is engaged in the project, the project manager (PM) will work directly with the school principal to discuss the identified renovations, meet with the architect, and coordinate the construction schedule. The principal will decide which school staff or parents might need to be involved with the design process depending on the scope of work. The project manager will share information with the entire school staff at key milestones through the design process.
