June 2019 Updates/DispForm.aspx?ID=26 Updates/DispForm.aspx?ID=26{28e838a4-8015-4177-ac17-2576b5d1e514}June 2019Adolfson & Peterson (A&P) Construction has been very productive this month. Inside the school, crews are busy reconfiguring the front vestibule and office space, installing new windows, constructing walls for the preschool and kindergarten rooms and in the open space areas, and renovating restrooms. Carpet has been removed from the gym, and walls are being painted. A significant amount of work is occurring above the ceiling, including new wiring and ductwork. Modifications are underway in the Den to improve ADA accessibility and reconfigure other spaces for small group rooms and a maker space. The rooftop is a busy place with demolition occurring, soon to be followed by new roof installation. New roof-top HVAC units will be installed in the coming weeks. Playground renovation is on-going. Construction progress continues to move along on schedule.

March 22, 2019 Updates/DispForm.aspx?ID=21 Updates/DispForm.aspx?ID=21{28e838a4-8015-4177-ac17-2576b5d1e514}March 22, 2019Adolfson and Peterson (A&P) Construction has been working evenings Monday through Thursday in the interior of the building replacing drinking fountains and working above ceilings running fire alarm wiring. In the west parking lot, A&P has been busy installing underground electrical wiring and pouring the curbs and gutters. Over Spring Break, crews will pour concrete for the light bases and sidewalks in the west parking lot. On the interior of the building, they will level the concrete slab in the kitchen and surrounding classrooms. In addition, drinking fountain installation will continue, along with asbestos removal in various locations. The team has made great progress over the past couple of weeks!,

In addition to continued above-ceiling investigations of the HVAC, mechanical and electrical routings and caulk removal around the windows, A&P has started to renovate the restroom adjacent to the cafeteria. The restroom remodel during May will give crews a head start on the completion of the project. All interior work is still being conducted after hours. As the weather gets warmer, the current heating system will be shut down and the boilers removed in preparation for installing new high-efficiency boilers this summer. Crews poured new concrete sidewalks and parking lot curbing at the front and west of the school. They also installed new drinking fountains and completed asbestos abatement in various locations. Additional work in the cafeteria area evened out the floors. In the coming weeks, A&P will be working on the west parking lot grading and compacting to prepare for the first layer of asphalt. Inside the school, crews will continue working evenings Monday through Thursday to replace the old drinking fountains and install wiring above the ceiling grid for the new fire alarm system.,

Exterior work this week included the demolition and site grading for the west parking lot expansion. The east parking lot has been expanded temporarily to accommodate school parking displaced from the west lot. Interior activity (which occurs M-Th., 3 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.) included initial work to replace drinking fountains in the school and investigation of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems above the ceiling grid. In the coming weeks, A & P will complete the demo of the west parking lot and begin to form curbs and gutters. Interior work will focus on the continued removal of drinking fountains in the building. Temporary water coolers will be placed in various locations until new water fountains are installed.,

On the exterior, they are working on rerouting irrigation lines due to the west parking lot expansion. The first layer of asphalt in the west parking lot was laid down today. The interior night work will continue to focus on investigations of the HVAC mechanical and electrical routings above ceilings and caulking removal around the windows. In the coming weeks, they will continue to conduct night work above ceiling work and as the weather gets warmer in May, will work in the boiler room in preparation for installing new boilers this summer.,

Adolfson and Peterson Construction has made great progress so far this summer. Walls of the preschool and kindergarten classrooms and in the open space areas are in place and painted. New casework for various areas is staged and installation is starting. Restroom renovations for the preschool and kindergarten rooms as well as other areas of the building are ongoing. Window and door installation is underway. Renovations to transform the den into Husky Hollow continue to progress. Outside on the playground, new concrete has been poured to create ADA accessibility and replace worn, cracked surfaces. A new emergency generator has been installed, as well as new, energy-efficient boilers. On the roof, demolition is complete and installation of new materials is underway. Students and staff can look forward to returning to exciting new changes in August!

Inside, crews are assembling furniture, cleaning, and moving items from storage as well as working on the punch list of final items. School staff are busy unpacking and setting up rooms. Outside, work is wrapping up on the roof. Minor activity will continue evenings and weekends into the school year as the project team works to finish up final items.,

They have completed the rough-in plumbing and steel wall framing and will begin to drywall, tape, and finish next week. In addition, they were able to remove the existing boilers and begin pad repair work in the boiler room area to prepare for the new system. In the coming weeks, new boilers will be installed. The construction work is scheduled to ramp up quickly at the end of the school year and will go strong until August.
