Energy use is predicted to be half of what it would be if the building were designed to meet minimum building code requirements. The new school will be an innovative building that supports teaching and learning to foster student success in the 21st Century. ​The school campus will be located southeast of Erie Parkway and Flatiron Meadows Boulevard with a planned opening of Fall 2017. The schools will serve new and growing neighborhoods in Erie currently served by Lafayette Elementary and Angevine Middle schools in Lafayette.​

The attendance area includes residences generally east of Highway 287 and north of Arapahoe Rd. in BVSD which were formerly designated to attend Lafayette Elementary and Angevine Middle. Inside the building, wall framing is 40 percent complete and crews are making progress on the installation of electrical and plumbing. The in-floor heating system is 70 percent complete. Landscape installation has begun, including playground construction. The FCI team continues to make great progress inside and out on our new building. Recent accomplishments include: ● Above ceiling inspections have been completed and the acoustical ceiling tiles are being installed ● The resilient (tile) flooring is done in the south wing and carpeting is being installed ● The drywall in the administrative area has been finished and is ready for painting ● Drywall is being hung in the music and PE areas (which will not be complete until October) ● Fiber optic lines are nearing connection to the building ● The raised concrete planters outside the building have been poured ● The irrigation system is complete on the playing field and sod has been installed. ● Playground equipment is being installed ● Cabinetry installation in the north wing is nearing completion

Scope of Work

Project Description
A new school will be constructed in the Boulder Valley School District attendance area in Erie. The school will serve grades PK-8.  The configuration of the campus will be determined when the district begins the pre-design phase for the project.
