July 2018 Updates/DispForm.aspx?ID=24 Updates/DispForm.aspx?ID=24{28e838a4-8015-4177-ac17-2576b5d1e514}July 2018Himmelman Construction continues to make progress on the renovation work at Eisenhower. During the month of June, the exterior renovation focused on the installation of a new roofing system and site work demolition. On the interior, crews removed existing concrete floors in the kitchen and bathrooms to prepare the rooms for new plumbing configurations and finishes. In addition, tile flooring in the hallways has been removed and electrical and mechanical upgrades have started. The month of July will see a sizeable shift from demolition and site preparation to reconstruction of the building spaces both indoor and outdoor. We look forward to the completion of the roofing system, installation of new flooring and fresh paint throughout, updated restrooms, new preschool rooms and repaved parking lot.
Oct. 22, 2018 Updates/DispForm.aspx?ID=30 Updates/DispForm.aspx?ID=30{28e838a4-8015-4177-ac17-2576b5d1e514}Oct. 22, 2018Over the weekend crews made significant progress on the modifications to the reception area, including installation of new counters, a new transaction window, and reinstallation of the lockout/lockdown buttons. Two of the counters were incorrectly made and will be re-manufactured. However, this does not affect the functionality of the area. Also over the weekend, a rooftop hydronic pump and a boiler pump were replaced which should improve the performance of the HVAC system. The kindergarten/first-grade restrooms have been completed and were turned over to the school last week. The existing acoustical wall panels are scheduled to be reinstalled this week. The project team has made significant progress on the punch list, with only a few items remaining. Here is the timeline for the remaining items: Reinstallation of existing acoustical wall panels is scheduled for Oct. 22-26. Added millwork and shelving in the classroom pods is scheduled to be complete by Oct. 29. The following work will occur over Thanksgiving Break: Install restroom epoxy flooring; Install classroom acoustic panels (floor and ceiling mounted); Remove carpet wall covering in gym; Paint gym walls. BVSD project team members continue to be on site daily to speak with teachers and monitor progress.
