Air Conditioning

Through the 2014 Bond Program, BVSD will add air conditioning to all non-mountain schools. Some of this work was included in the original Educational Facilities Master Plan. The master plan has been expanded to include adding air conditioning at all other schools. This work will be funded through project budgets, Bond premium, program reserve, or project savings. The final seven schools (Centennial Middle, Community Montessori, Fireside Elementary, Horizons K-8, Manhattan Middle, Platt Middle, and Ryan Elementary) will have air conditioning installed for the 2021-22 school year. 

Construction Update

Mid-Summer 2021

Work at all seven schools (Ryan Elementary, Community Montessori Elementary, Fireside Elementary, Horizons K-8, Centennial Middle, Platt Middle, and Manhattan Middle) is moving forward on schedule. Due to the unique design of each of these seven schools, and the unique challenges with a project of this scope, the potential for delays was always a possibility. However, we are pleased to report that each school is on target for completion in late July/early August! With the completion of this work, all non-mountain schools in BVSD will have building-wide air conditioning.
