The cooling unit for the air conditioning is being installed northwest of the school. Piping is being installed on the roof and at night in corridors and some classrooms. Ceiling tiles will be missing in some areas for the remainder of the school year.

Work on the gym will begin the week of June 27th. The garage has been removed, and the shed by the pre-school playground will be moved soon. A crane will be onsite this week to install heavy HVAC equipment on the roof. Drywall is being installed in the cafeteria and the kitchen underground plumbing has been completed. Work on the playground continues with installation of concrete and new irrigation system.,

This summer was very busy and the crews are still working hard to complete the work prior to school starting on August 18th. Here is a list of what you will see when the work is completed: ● New roof insulation and roof ● New HVAC system (with air conditioning) throughout the school ● Newly renovated kitchen and cafeteria ● New ceiling tiles ● New playground, irrigation and redesigned garden area ● New bus loop ● New windows in various locations in the building ● New literacy classrooms ● Renovated classroom areas ● New support structures on the gym (exterior) ● Electrical upgrades ● Renovated restroom facilities Mrs. Nelson-Steinhoff and her office staff are currently holding regular office hours on site at Pioneer Elementary school from (8-4pm). Student drop off will no longer be on the west side of the school, but will be on the east side of the school in the parking lot. Check back for a map.,

  • Renovate kitchen and repair/replace equipment
  • Repair/replace fixtures such as casework
  • Asbestos abatement
  • Site improvements such as paving and irrigation
  • Install building-wide air conditioning
  • Audio enhancement for every classroom**

Program Compatibility Assessment

  • Provide adequate space for full-day kindergarten
  • Provide new bus loop

Health and Physical Development

  • Upgrade playground surfacing and equipment

Safety and Security

  • Install camera/intercom security system

  • Escuela Bilingüe Pioneer is eligible to receive up to $200,000 in additional funds to implement facility improvements that support innovative teaching methods.
