Installation of structural steel, exterior framing, first-floor interior framing (later next week) and waterproofing work will begin in this area as well and will continue over the coming weeks. Roof drain sleeves have been installed and Sampson will be completing some minor roof edge/parapet repairs also. Finally, dirt will be “coming and going” into the new area as well with the backfilling of the foundation and the ongoing removal of the stockpile. Inside the school, the bulk of the work is focused on the Early Childhood classrooms. Rough-in for mechanical and plumbing is mostly complete but electrical rough-in work continues currently and has several weeks to go for completion. Punch list items also are being addressed in various areas. We hope that all of the Eldorado community had a fantastic Winter Break and that your students, and you, are excited for the resumption of school…...Go Eagles! Note: The building will be shut down completely (no power) on the weekend of February 17 - 19, Presidents weekend. As such, nobody will be allowed in the building on this weekend.,

December 20, 2017 Updates/DispForm.aspx?ID=49 Updates/DispForm.aspx?ID=49{28e838a4-8015-4177-ac17-2576b5d1e514}December 20, 2017There is a lot of activity going on here at Eldorado K-8 as the crane is on site and the steel is going up for the new addition! The crane will return again over the break for some roof work (cooling tower removal) but it is exciting to see tangible progress being made in this area. Steel decking for the new addition will begin to be placed next week along with the ongoing removal of the dirt stockpile by the new addition (a very slow process unfortunately). New roof drain inserts will continue to be installed over the coming weeks as well. There is also a lot of work going inside the school over the next two weeks as the contractor takes advantage of an empty building. Carpet and tile is being replaced in the band/choir room and the existing scoreboard in the main gym will be removed/replaced. Door hardware will be replaced throughout the school to improve safety and security. In the Early Childhood area electrical and mechanical rough-in continues and should be wrapping up in the next 3 weeks. Finally, the ongoing punch-list is being addressed on a daily basis and will continue throughout the end of the project. Note I: Construction will not take place on 12/25/17 and 1/1/18 in celebration of the holidays. Note II: The weekly construction update will resume again on 1/3/18.,
May 17 Updates/DispForm.aspx?ID=25 Updates/DispForm.aspx?ID=25{28e838a4-8015-4177-ac17-2576b5d1e514}May 17Construction on the site will commence on May 30. Heavy equipment will be delivered for staging purposes on that day. Excel energy will be on site on May 30 and will be digging trenches in the NW corner of the property for line relocation. It is anticipated that this will take 2 days to prep the site for relocation and power will be shut down on June 1 to enable the new connection. Demolition on the front parking lot will start on Wednesday, May 31. No cars will be allowed to park in the front lot. In terms of work in the building, demolition, prep, and pulling carpet begins immediately on May 31.,
December 13, 2017 Updates/DispForm.aspx?ID=48 Updates/DispForm.aspx?ID=48{28e838a4-8015-4177-ac17-2576b5d1e514}December 13, 2017We are starting to see real progress in the new addition here at Eldorado K-8. Steel beams are now reaching out of the ground and the skeleton of the new addition is starting to take shape. The large stockpile of dirt continues to be removed along with prep work for the pouring of stairs/sidewalk at the bike rack area in the front of the school. Roof drain inserts will continue to be installed over the next few weeks with completion slated for early in the holiday break. Inside work continues on schedule as well. Demolition of the chiller will start on Monday and replacement of door hardware will begin later next week as well. Rough-in work on the electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems in the Early Childhood area is ongoing along with the installation of drywall in these new classrooms. Note I. There will be intermittent drilling sounds coming from the ECE area as they work to install hangers for plumbing in the ceiling. The contractor is doing their best to minimize this sound and the impact on classroom instruction. Basic punch list items continue to be addressed on an ongoing basis throughout the school. Note II. Welding will be taking place for several weeks in the new addition. With that knowledge, the contractor has put up a protective barrier to prevent people from looking directly at the light produced by this work. In the interest of safety for their eyes, we ask that students/staff not look directly at these lights while welding is taking place. Hope your holiday “run-up” is going well with you and your family!,

Orange safety fence has been built around the trailer. Exterior painting has begun and will continue through the end of the school year. Two external canopies at the front entrance will also be painted the weekend of 5/13 (weather permitting) Parking lot demolition will begin after the school year ends. Project construction continues to be on hold pending the relocation of the underground primary power lines coordinated by Xcel Energy. There is no update on when this will happen.,

Smaller items include site work in the bike rack area (concrete install, landscaping), hanging of tackboard in the corridors and completion of various punch-list items (paint touch-ups, etc.). Completion of the car charging station and landscaping in the east parking lot will also be completed. Larger items include ongoing stockpile removal, resurfacing of the tennis courts, framing and electrical rough-in of the classroom spaces in the new Early Childhood space. Work is also continuing on the new addition after a slight delay due to a drainage issue at the foundation. Overall the project is moving along smoothly and we are excited to see areas completed and others evolving on a weekly basis!,

January 3, 2018 Updates/DispForm.aspx?ID=50 Updates/DispForm.aspx?ID=50{28e838a4-8015-4177-ac17-2576b5d1e514}January 3, 2018There has been a lot of work taking place while the school is empty and you will certainly notice some changes to specific areas when students return on January 9th. The new addition has seen a lot of steel put in place and and a major concrete pour will be taking place early next week (first floor being put in place). Hence, expect a lot of activity in the fenced off construction area for this part of the project. There was a delay in completing the site work around the new bike/scooter rack area but hopefully completion of this work will resume again in the coming days. The large dirt pile is slowly being removed over the coming weeks along with the ongoing installation of replacement roof drains.,
