Ya se ha completado el removimiento de tierra, la eliminación de asbesto y la demolición de la taquilla. Durante el próximo mes, la pista actual será preparada para la nueva superficie y se removerá el césped sintético para preparar el área para el nuevo campo. La iluminación del estadio será reemplazada con más accesorios y equipos de eficiencia energética y los trabajadores comenzarán las obras de la nueva taquilla. Los baños exteriores serán remodelados con un nuevo techo y pintura. Por último, las tres canchas de tenis existentes serán recubiertas y ¡muy pronto se añadirán dos canchas más! The new ticket booth has been erected and tennis courts have been poured. Work on the south parking lot is complete and most of the lot is available for use. Upcoming work includes pouring the asphalt track and installation of the artificial turf on the field.,

Both the north and south parking lots have been paved with a final coat of striping paint to follow. The new turf field is being installed and the track has an asphalt underlayment ready for the new track surface. Seat walls and gate footings are being poured for the stadium entry. The ticket booth and concession building will be roofed in the next week along with interior block painting. The tennis courts have been poured with concrete and are awaiting a top coat surface and fencing. A new shed has been placed on site next to the tennis courts. Site work continues on the retention pond south of gym and east of the stadium bleachers.,

Spangenberg Field Construction Update Aug. 15 Updates/DispForm.aspx?ID=15 Updates/DispForm.aspx?ID=15{28e838a4-8015-4177-ac17-2576b5d1e514}Spangenberg Field Construction Update Aug. 15GH Phipps is in the final stages of construction on Spangenberg Field. The new turf field has been installed and the final painting on the track will be completed this week. The ticket booth/concession stand and restroom building will be completed early next week. The bleachers have been painted and new stadium lighting has been installed. The tennis courts are awaiting final painting and fencing and are scheduled to be completed soon. The parking lots have been completed and parking/traffic will start as it ended the year with the staff using the north lot and the senior lot will be used as a drop off location for busses. This will be only temporary while the contactors remove fencing and their work trailer. The contractors will still be on site to complete any remaining construction loose ends. Contractors will continue to mobilize the Spangenberg work site construction area. Starting on Tuesday, April 12th staff and student parking will change to accommodate a temporary bus lane pick-up. The ticket booth will undergo asbestos abatement work scheduled for April 12th. The abatement will last approximately one week. The work will be conducted in accordance with BVSD, State and Federal regulations.,

May 2016 Update - Spangenberg Field Renovation Updates/DispForm.aspx?ID=6 Updates/DispForm.aspx?ID=6{28e838a4-8015-4177-ac17-2576b5d1e514}May 2016 Update - Spangenberg Field RenovationConstruction progress on Spangenberg Field is moving forward. Site earthwork, exterior bathroom asbestos abatement and ticket office demolition has been completed. Over the next month, the existing track will be prepared for the new surface and the synthetic turf will be removed to prepare for new field turf. Stadium lighting will be replaced with more energy efficient fixtures and crews will begin work on the new ticket booth. The exterior restroom will be remodeled starting with new roofing and paint. Finally, the existing three tennis courts are being resurfaced and two additional courts will be added soon! Starting May 31st, the parking lot will be milled to prepare the surface for new asphalt. Please be aware of this when attending activities at the school over the summer. Traffic routes may change on a daily/weekly basis. Thank you for your support and patience during our construction. We look forward to an improved athletic facility and renovated parking lot when school resumes in the fall.,

Scope of Work

​The renovation of the Centaurus building provides the opportunity to rethink how we build schools to support student success in the 21st Century. Centaurus has been identified to be an exemplar of educational innovation in the school district. It will serve as a model of 21st Century approaches to teaching and learning as well as an innovative learning environment that will bring to life BVSD's Strategic Plan and the BVSD Innovation Guiding Principles.  

Facility Condition

  • Exterior building improvements such as repair/replace windows and doors and paint
  • Replace roof
  • Asbestos abatement
  • Renovate locker rooms
  • Improvements to interior finishes such as carpet, flooring, ceiling tile and paint
  • Replace clock system
  • HVAC system improvements
  • Electrical system improvements/generator replacement
  • Renovate commons area at auditorium (Argo)
  • Restroom renovations
  • Repair/replace fixtures such as bleachers and scoreboard
  • Site improvements such as paving and irrigation
  • Audio enhancement in every classroom**

Centaurus High School is eligible to receive up to $800,000 in additional funds to implement facility improvements that support innovative teaching methods. ​
